First Blog!

Hello!
I have decided to choose the book Fall on Your Knees by the esteemed Canadian author ann-Marie MacDonald. Though i have not obtained the book itself yet, i have done a bit of research on it, and it seems both fast-paced, and somewhat peculiar. The book initially caught my eye in class because of its imperative and unique title, and the fact that it was introduced as a book with potentially disturbing content. Its not that I would ever read a book just to read about human suffering or anything of the sort, i just usually find that its guaranteed that a book will be captivating and suspenseful, if it happens to be very graphic in nature. From what i can gather from various online sources, the story focuses around the story of James Piper, a young man who marries a thirteen year old girl in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, in the early twentieth century. This is a plot that I've, fortunately never come across before. Many critics award it a great deal of praise, and family members have encouraged me to continue my quest to read this book for my ISU. My hopes are that it will be as groundbreaking and thought-provoking as it is painted to be. I really hope i enjoy this book, and as i write about it at length, i actually am starting to become excited to read it.
